THE PARADOXICAL INTELLIGENCE INNUENDO'S!

IDIOCRACY

Idiocracy is an American comedy film touching upon science fiction and satirical genres. It was directed by Mike Judge and despite its questionable release in 2006, it has become a cult film. It has been referred to as “Prophecy” instead of “Idiocracy” especially since Donald Trump became the President of USA, as it links today’s world affairs to the dystopian society of the world in a not so distant future.
The movie is a satire on the lack of interest in the collective intellect and social responsibility, as well as the insatiable hunger for consumerism and physical pleasures of today’s human race. As people consume more and more of the earth’s resources, the risk of physical, environmental and social decay is nothing but inevitable.
The premise of the movie is defined in the opening narration:
“As the twenty-first century began, human evolution was at a turning point. Natural selection, the process by which the strongest, the smartest, the fastest reproduced in greater numbers than the rest, a process which had once favoured the noblest traits of man, now began to flavor different traits.
Most science fiction of the day predicted a future that was more civilised and more intelligent. But as time went on, things seemed to be heading in the opposite direction — a dumbing down. How did this happen? Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence. With no natural predators to thin the herd, it began to simply reward those who reproduced the most and left the intelligent to become an endangered species.”
I have always found this take very relevant in the current Socio/ cultural context, behind all the pun is message which aches of apprehension of what could happen, our trends of consumption and extraction are taking a toll on the planet, with limited few, actually realising and attempting to deter the damage while the bulk of the population is not able to comprehend the extent of the continuing damage.

TYPE 0 CIVILIZATION

TYPE 0 CIVILIZATION   Michio Kaku 3 types of Civilizations TYPE 0 CIVILIZATION As we humans fight for sustainability and survival of our species on this planet, we need to understand that the human race is at a crucial point of its evolutionary process. While we are helping to prolong life, create medicine and robots, increase our knowledge and energy sources we are also sucking our planet dry of all the natural resources that it has for us. One of the most fascinating aspect of science is its faith in trusting the proof. And all the same time also having the ability to visualise things that are not yet proven. Hence working together with what has been proven and what can be proven. And based on today’s technological advancements, A LOT has been proven as far as the human ability to Create is concerned and A LOT can be conceived and anticipated; things and ideas that used to be in the paradigm of magic or science fiction once are now EXIST! The downside of it all ...

BIOMIMICRY

https://www.ted.com/talks/michael_pawlyn_using_nature_s_genius_in_architecture USING NATURE'S GENIUS IN ARCHITECTURE We have a lot to learn from nature, with over 4 billion years of evolution nature can be a source of infinite knowledge and wisdom, scientists are already trying to make connections and find ways to integrate the highly efficient systems found in nature in our daily lives, what nature can do with limited resources and in a closed loop providing us with examples of a highly sustainable and efficient examples, which can be a direction for us to partake. These ventures into exploring the fantastic world are integral in our journey to finding a sustainable solution and securing our future. Michael Pawlyn’s talk on biomimicry was one of my first Ted Talks, one that would prove to be for me a realization, the humbling understanding of how with so much intelligence and understanding we are still leaps and bounds away from the whimsical and symphonic harmony of natu...
