“And I then challenged the people of Interface, my company, to lead our company and the entire industrial world to sustainability, which we defined as eventually operating our petroleum-intensive company in such a way as to take from the earth only what can be renewed by the earth, naturally and rapidly — not another fresh drop of oil — and to do no harm to the biosphere. Take nothing: do no harm. I simply said, "If Hawken is right and business and industry must lead, who will lead business and industry? Unless somebody leads, nobody will." It's axiomatic. Why not us? And thanks to the people of Interface, I have become a recovering plunderer”.

This is the age of the corporates, financial institutions and conglomerates working towards a financial gains and political strongholds, with Issues like Global warming, food security and social justice looming over our heads a few institutions have had the courage to take the problem head on and take the hit for the greater good.
It is not about charity it is about future, not just theirs but the entire human race’s. Ray Anderson took this up, founder of Interface inc. the largest modular carpet manufacturers in the world, he had no reason to, but his vision to shift to renewables and “no plundering the earth” was an iconic and important shift. In his life and later his family stayed true to this proving that you can do business (even if not as usual), make profit and still do no more damage to the already fragile state of the Earth.
We do need visionaries which are beyond the Money, now with Donald Trump walking out of Paris Accords, there is a dire need for companies to step up, with

It is important for the corporations and industry sector to give positive input even if the policy makers are backing down.
