AMUSED TO DEATH

AMUSED TO DEATH

Roger Waters: Perfect Sense

They significantly edge
Closer to the gold
Each man has his price Bob
And yours was pretty low
History is short the sun just a minor star
The poor man sells his kidneys
In some colonial bazaar
Que sera sera
Is that your new Ferrari car
Nice but I'll think I'll wait for the F50
You don't have to be a Jew
To disapprove of murder
Tears burn my eyes
Moslem or Christians Mullah or Pope
Preacher or poet who was it wrote
Give any one species too much rope
And they'll fuck it up
Roger waters

I started my crawl in the heart of a cultural metropolis of Lahore (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lahore) surrounded by a population of 2.8 million in 1980 (http://worldpopulationreview.com/world-cities/lahore-population/) saw it explode to 9.25 million by the time we moved to Sydney 2015 (http://worldpopulationreview.com/world-cities/lahore-population/), I saw the division of rich and or divide and spread beyond any reason, walking the roads all around was an environment of desperation for Consumption and the greed for even more. Sustainability just being a word for Lounge conversations by the rich or academic dialogues in the Utopian Socratic debate. Power and Want rather than needs are the KEYWORDS of everyday. A developing Country powered by over consumption, dissatisfaction angst and rage all looping pack to a simple notion of Gluttony.
Fast forward to a promise of a better life our move to the first world, AUSTRALIA, greener pastures indeed. Tolerance, freedom, Support and beyond everything Humane Sensitivity that was a term much desired in the high density "Developing Nations" of the world.
It is all a game of numbers, makes perfect sense. But why cannot we see how we silently edge to chaos, why can’t we see the human population becoming a melee that is increasing in numbers and the dissatisfaction showing in the search of a better world by leaving what is / was theirs to nurture and hold (Urban Sprawl).

Our need for instant gratification and Consumption is Amusing as it maybe leading to a sad demise of the only home we will ever call home, the tiny blip in the universe the 3rd rock from the Sun, that only our vigilance, pro-active and communal efforts can postpone.

TYPE 0 CIVILIZATION

TYPE 0 CIVILIZATION   Michio Kaku 3 types of Civilizations TYPE 0 CIVILIZATION As we humans fight for sustainability and survival of our species on this planet, we need to understand that the human race is at a crucial point of its evolutionary process. While we are helping to prolong life, create medicine and robots, increase our knowledge and energy sources we are also sucking our planet dry of all the natural resources that it has for us. One of the most fascinating aspect of science is its faith in trusting the proof. And all the same time also having the ability to visualise things that are not yet proven. Hence working together with what has been proven and what can be proven. And based on today’s technological advancements, A LOT has been proven as far as the human ability to Create is concerned and A LOT can be conceived and anticipated; things and ideas that used to be in the paradigm of magic or science fiction once are now EXIST! The downside of it all ...

BIOMIMICRY

https://www.ted.com/talks/michael_pawlyn_using_nature_s_genius_in_architecture USING NATURE'S GENIUS IN ARCHITECTURE We have a lot to learn from nature, with over 4 billion years of evolution nature can be a source of infinite knowledge and wisdom, scientists are already trying to make connections and find ways to integrate the highly efficient systems found in nature in our daily lives, what nature can do with limited resources and in a closed loop providing us with examples of a highly sustainable and efficient examples, which can be a direction for us to partake. These ventures into exploring the fantastic world are integral in our journey to finding a sustainable solution and securing our future. Michael Pawlyn’s talk on biomimicry was one of my first Ted Talks, one that would prove to be for me a realization, the humbling understanding of how with so much intelligence and understanding we are still leaps and bounds away from the whimsical and symphonic harmony of natu...
